“Dancing With the Stars” judge Derek Hough has COVID-19

Derek Hough has to take a break from sentencing Dancing with the stars, after revealing on social media on Tuesday that he has a positive COVID-19 test.

“Even though I am fully vaccinated, I have just been diagnosed with a breakthrough COVID case,” he said in the video. “I just found out, and I’m fine. I feel strong. I’m currently taking advice from medical professionals and doing my best to heal as soon as possible. I’m currently in quarantine. I’ll make sure to keep you up to date on what’s happening, but I just want to send a lot of love to everyone Stay safe. “

When asked to comment on how long Hough has been away, the spokesman said Dancing with the stars restored Yahoo Entertainment to its mission.

The final of the program – featuring JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson, Discourse presenter Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten, NBA stars Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach, and Peloton director Cody Rigsby and Cheryl Burke will compete for the Mirrorball Award – on November 22nd.

Hough was only sidelined last month at “Britney Night,” when contestants danced to the beat of Britney Spears’ songs after what host Tyra Banks called “potential COVID exposure.”

“Although Derek is fully vaccinated and the test result is negative, Derek will be participating in tonight’s performance with great caution,” Banks said during the broadcast on Oct. 4.

That same week, professional dancer Burke and her partner Rigsby received their own positive COVID-19 tests even after they had been vaccinated. The couple performed their dance to the song “Gimme More” from each of their separate homes, giving the screen the impression that they were side by side.
