Legal notice direct when mother and partner are charged with the murder of three-year-old Kemarni Watson Darby

The toddler, murdered by his mother and his boyfriend, suffered “horrific” injuries similar to those in a car crash, the court has heard.

Prosecutors say three-year-old Kemarni Watson Darby was found “lifeless” in an apartment in West Bromwich on June 5, 2018.

His mother, Alicia Watson, 30, and her then-partner Nathaniel Pope, 31, are being tried for her murder in Birmingham Crown Court.

Watson, Raglan Road, Handsworth, and Pope, Evans Street, Wolverhampton, both dispute charges of murder and several allegations of child cruelty.
