Penske Automotive acquires McCoy Freightliner, a commercial truck dealer

Penske Automotive Group Inc. has acquired the Oregon-based McCoy Freightliner, which is expanding its supply of commercial trucks and expanding its coverage to the Pacific Northwest.

Agreement, announced on Tuesday, brings three dealers and $ 200 million in annual revenue to Penske ‘s Premier Truck Group, according to a press release. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2007, McCoy Freightliner operates two dealerships for medium- and heavy-duty Freightliner trucks and a resale center for equipment and leasing trucks. These seats are housed under the umbrella of the Dallas-based Premier Truck Group, which Penske bought in 2014.

“McCoy is expanding our coverage to the Pacific Northwest, serving Interstate 5 and 84, and is 600 miles from our existing Idaho locations, allowing us to improve customer service and expand our operations,” Richard Shearing, CEO of Premier Truck Group, said in a statement.

The Premier Truck Group has grown into 37 dealers in North America with annual sales of approximately $ 2.5 billion, of which $ 1.1 billion has been added over the past year through acquisitions. It took over the Kansas City Freightliner earlier this year and earned $ 450 million in annual revenue.
