The Bosa chargers are on the Covid-19 list

Los Angeles Chargers has placed an outside line on the reserve / COVID-19 list for Joey Bosa and defending lineman Jerry Tillery.

NFL Network Mike Garafolo said there is still a scenario where both players would be playable, which would mean that the player is positive but has been vaccinated or the player was in close contact (either vaccinated or unvaccinated). Garafolo added that four players in the NFL were placed on the reserve / COVID-19 list on Tuesday and three were positive and one was a close contact.

How quickly Bosa and Tillery can return to exercise depends largely on whether they are positive on the COVID-19 test and whether they have been vaccinated.

Vaccinated players who test positive will need two negative tests at least every 24 hours to return to the team. Unvaccinated players with a positive result must be isolated from the team for at least 10 days and the result must be negative before they can return. Unvaccinated players who are in close contact must be isolated for five days and the test negative every day before returning. Neither player has publicly announced their vaccination status.

Chargers will play against the Steelers this Sunday and definitely hope Bosa can return. Bosa is exactly at the top of the series with three Strip sacks, with 5.5 sacks and three forced fumbles this season. He has been fired in two consecutive games and three of the last four.

Tillery have 30 tackles and 2.5 sacks playing 81 percent of the team’s defense starts.

Steelers may be missing quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and security Minkah Fitzpatrick next Sunday due to COVID-19 protocols.

Bosa and Tillery must be activated on the reserve / COVID-19 list by 4pm ET on Saturday to play on Sunday.
